What forms of payment do you accept?

We currently only accept debit and credit cards (VISA/ Mastercard/ American Express).

What is this lab fee? Why isn’t it included in my membership?

Due to NYS regulations, aura cannot advance the lab fee on your behalf; however we’ve partnered with a lab to negotiate a $175 out-of-pocket rate for processing all the samples from your checkup (the full range of tests we call for would normally cost upwards of $4,000). You can pay the lab directly by card.

Do I need health insurance to become an aura member?

We do not currently accept health insurance; nor do you need it to become an aura member: it’s a monthly plan that’s meant to complement your existing insurance.

Can I use my FSA or HSA to cover membership or other costs?

Many of our members use their HSA/FSA to pay for their lab fee. However, we recommend checking with your FSA/HSA company/carrier for more information and details as to how you can use these funds. In case there is any additional documentation you need, please reach out to contact@aura.care.

Does my insurance cover my lab fee?

For the time being, your insurance will not reimburse your lab fee, but we’re actively working with major insurers to get them to do so. Watch this space for updates.

Is there a commitment for my membership?

There is no minimum commitment for your membership.

Will my membership automatically renew every year?

Yes. Long-term health requires consistent effort over time. Our mission is to be by your side to support those efforts every day and every step of the way. And to make things easier, we’ll renew your membership automatically at the end of the year - unless you tell us otherwise.

Will I be charged a fee if I cancel my appointments last minute?

As a general rule, last-minute cancellations will incur a fee. Some exceptions may apply. Please contact an aura advisor for more information.

What if I’m not satisfied with the care I receive at aura?

In case your aura membership isn’t what you were expecting, you can cancel your membership by sending an email to contact@aura.care.

Can I pay my yearly membership upfront?

Yes. You can pay for your membership in monthly or yearly installments.

Can I cancel my membership?

Who is aura for?

aura membership is for health-conscious individuals who want to take a proactive approach to getting healthy - and staying that way. Not only have we brought together the latest scientifically-proven screening protocols to get a snapshot of how your body is doing, we’re also actively assessing and mitigating any potential risks you might have of developing illnesses down the line. Our medical team’s mission is to support your long-term health from A to Z (and beyond).

How long does my annual checkup take?

We’ve optimized the sequence of our at-home checkups so that we can measure over 140 different health markers in just about 90 minutes. For a full list of the tests we conduct during your checkup, click here.

How long does it take to get my results?

On average, it takes up to 12 business days for your samples to be processed, the results reviewed by our medical team of General Practitioners and specialists, and your detailed medical report delivered to your aura GP for review during your online appointment.

Will I have the same doctor throughout my membership?

No. But if you want to speak to your doctor again, you can request extra appointments to your Health Manager.

Is there an age requirement for becoming a member?

You must be 18 years or older to apply for aura membership.

What happens if I need a specialist or hospitalization?

As a reminder, aura is meant to be a complementary health service and not a replacement for critical medical intervention. If you need to be hospitalized, please go to the nearest urgent care center or emergency room.

What isn’t included in my aura membership?

Your $349 lab processing fee during your yearly checkups, any appointments with specialists, and/or any eventual supplements recommended to you by your GP or health coach are not included in your membership. For an overview of what is included, please click here.

Does aura offer urgent care?

No. aura is a complementary health service and therefore not meant to be a replacement for urgent medical intervention. If you need urgent or emergency care, please go to an urgent care facility or emergency room nearest to you.

I have a chronic condition. Is aura right for me?

Having a preexisting health condition puts you at risk for developing more associated health issues down the line. As such, it’s wise to adapt your lifestyle to prevent this from happening whenever possible.

If you become a member, you can be sure we’ll take your entire medical history - including any eventual chronic illnesses - into account. From your checkup to your health action plan, our goal is to support your long-term quality of life.

Do I need to select a Primary Care Provider at aura?

No, you don’t need to select a Primary Care Provider at aura. As a reminder, aura, is a complementary health service and is not meant to be a replacement for your health insurance and care.

What do I need to do if I need to reschedule/ cancel an appointment?

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, go to your account dashboard and click Appointments, then select the appointment you want to reschedule. Rescheduling and cancellations and may be subject to a fee. Please consult your membership agreement’s Terms and Conditions for details

What is a GP/RN/RDN/Physiotherapist/Health coach?

A GP, short for General Practitioner, is a medical doctor who provides primary healthcare services, offering comprehensive care, diagnosing and treating common illnesses, and managing ongoing health concerns.

An RN, or Registered Nurse, is a healthcare professional who has completed the necessary education and licensing requirements to provide direct patient care, including monitoring and assessing patients' conditions, administering medications, and assisting in medical procedures under the supervision of physicians.

An RDN, or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, is a trained professional specializing in the field of nutrition and dietetics, providing expert advice and guidance on proper nutrition, creating personalized meal plans, and addressing health conditions through dietary interventions.

A physiotherapist, also known as a physical therapist, is a healthcare professional who assesses, diagnoses, and treats individuals with physical impairments or limitations, aiming to restore or improve their mobility, function, and overall quality of life through exercises, manual therapies, and other interventions.

A health coach is a supportive professional who helps individuals identify and achieve their health and wellness goals by providing guidance, education, and motivation. They work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized plans, implement lifestyle changes, and provide ongoing support to promote long-term health and well-being.

How is my personal information protected? Is aura HIPAA compliant?

We follow strict data protocols to unsure the safety of our member's data. Our severs and softwares follow the health data protection protocols outlined in the 1996 HIPAA Act (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). For more details, please consult our Privacy Policy.

How do I access my health information?

Your aura platform is meant to be your one-stop-shop for bookings, contacting your medical team, but it’s also your central hub for all of your test results and health monitoring data. Sign in to your account and click Documents to view your checkup history.

I’m not located in New York City. When can I expect aura services in my area?

We’re working hard to expand our membership beyond New York City. If you haven’t already, click Get Started and fill out your information so we can contact you once membership is open in your area.
